Art Therapy Master’s degree of Health Science in Health Care The topicality and necessity for the professional master’s study programme in Arts Therapies is determined by trends in contemporary understanding of health. Arts therapies professional master’s study programme has been designed to ensure students with the acquisition of extended medical knowledge and specific skills and abilities of art therapist, necessary for doing independent scientific research work and high-level professional work in accordance with the needs of the state health care and rehabilitation system and requirements of profession standards. Master study program of Arts Therapies includes specialization in one of four arts therapies visually plastic art therapy, dance movement therapy, music therapy or drama therapy. Title of the Study Programme: Art Therapy Form of the Study Programme: Full-time studies Length of the Study Programme and ECTS: 5 semesters, 2.5 years, 150 ECTS Degree Awarded: Master’s degree of Health Science in Health Care Aim of the Study programme: The aim of the programme is to provide students with the possibility to acquire a master’s degree in health care and to master professional education in art therapy according to the chosen speciality. Main objectives of the Study Programme: Provide students with the possibility to acquire professional knowledge, skills and attitude in art therapy and to learn to understand and effectively solve professional and research tasks, applying productive and critical thinking skills, successfully collaborate with the other specialists by joining in the multi-professional and interdisciplinary teamwork. Deepen an understanding about the tendencies towards art therapy in the world by facilitating the mastering of the latest achievements in the chosen field. Develop and improve professional knowledge, skills and attitude in research and evaluation of the client and in the realisation of the process according to the chosen field of professional activity. Assessment methods: Evaluation system for each subject is specified in the course description. Students are acquainted with the evaluation criteria at the beginning of each course. Knowledge is assessed either orally, in a written form or in a combined form. Student knowledge is also evaluated in reports, essays and annotations on readings. A lot of attention is given to students’ individual work.
